Frequently Asked Questions about Dog Boarding

Does my dog need to be an active daycare dog to board overnight?

Dog Boarding Facility in Fort WorthNo. However we do strongly recommend that your dog attend at least one day of daycare with us before making a boarding reservation. This helps us make sure your dog will be comfortable during their stay.

Please remember, Dogs Unleashed Daycare reserves the right to change your dog’s type of boarding/daycare if we think it is necessary to protect their well being, including but not limited to size of enclosure, amount of playtime, bedding allowed etc.

What do I need to bring for my dog?

Sadie with HER ball

Sadie with HER ball

We have crates, beds, bowls and toys for all of our overnight guests, but you are welcome to bring anything that you feel will make your dog more comfortable during his/her stay. For safety reasons certain items (rawhides etc.) will not be left with your dog overnight.

We cannot guarantee that toys, blankets and/or beds will be returned in the condition that they were brought in, so if you love the item do not leave it with your dog. All of these things must be clearly marked with your dog’s name to ensure their return.

Do I need to supply my own food, treats and medication?

We prefer that you bring you own food to avoid stomach upset. Please place enough food for your dog’s stay with us (no large bags) in an airtight container and have it clearly labeled with your dogs name & last name. Please add $3.00 per day if feeding food provided by us.

We will provide snacks for our dog during their stay – however if your dog has special dietary needs please provide any treats you would like them to have. Stuffed Kongs are also available for your dog’s enjoyment – just ask a staff member for details.

We will be happy to give any needed medications to your dog for NO extra charge. All medications must be in their original bottle and clearly marked with dog’s name, name & strength of medication and dosage. Also please let us know at the time of drop off what doses have already been given that day.

Will my dog be clean at pick up?

Your dog’s coat may be dirty or wet when you pick them up. It is a ton of fun to roll in the mud and play in the wading pools – and since we are all about your dog having fun, we let the dogs be dogs. We change the water in the pools often for their health and safety and do our best to hose them off if they get too dirty.

If you want your dog to be clean at pick up – just let us know and we will schedule your dog for a Basic or Premium Bath.

* If we have not answered all of your questions or concerns, or you would like us to elaborate on any point or policy that we have, please don’t hesitate to ask!
